Girls Soccer Coaching Staff
Dominic Washington — Varsity Head Coach
As the new Head Coach of the Ben Davis Girls Soccer Program, Coach Washington plans to be a positive role model for his team. He plans to bring an intense winning & fun culture to the program. As a former two sport varsity athlete at BD, which he played every position possible on the pitch, and having played 2 years with the USAI Premier League Team, this prepares him to understand his players and expand players’ skill set. He was a part of the 2016 IHSAA Class 6A State Runner-Up Final Four Football Team. He has a degree from University of Indianapolis in Elementary Education with a concentration in reading.
He currently teaches 4th Grade at Deer Run Elementary. This will be his 3rd year teaching. He loves to inspire the youth and push them to be comfortable when uncomfortable. He is committed to leading our team to greatness and enhancing team performance. Coach believes teamwork amongst coaches & staff is imperative to the team’s success. Two of his favorite philosophies: Put in the Work. The Good Work. The Hard Work. AND Strategy is Patience.

Maggie Lewis — Varsity Assistant Coach
With years of competitive soccer experience and coaching under her belt, Coach Lewis is excited to join the Ben Davis Girls Soccer Program and bring her passion for the game to the team. She is a firm believer that high school sports should be an inclusive environment for all students so they have a chance to learn the life lessons that come from organized athletics and team sports, get exercise, and, most importantly, be in safe environments that keep them busy throughout the year.
Coach Lewis played varsity soccer for Columbus East High School and notched two sectional championships, one regional championship, and one semi-state berth during her time on the team, and was active on various Columbus Express Soccer Club teams. She also played soccer at Ball State University, where she graduated with a degree in Visual and Interactive Storytelling and a minor in Coaching. Now, she teaches at her alma mater. Coach Lewis is excited to work with the rest of the coaching staff to build a team-centered, winning culture at Ben Davis.
Lailah Gude — Head JV Coach
Coach Lailah Gude, known as Coach G. is in her first year with our Lady Giants soccer program. She is a recent graduate of the University of Indianapolis. Coach G. has been playing soccer since she was five years old. She played in high school and also for the USAI Premier League Team. Coach G. has a strong passion for soccer and has always loved the sport. She is a very positive, understanding, and passionate person. Coach G. brings leadership skills, communication skills, and collaboration skills to the Lady Giants program. Her goal is for our ladies to be able to reach their maximum performance levels and career goals with soccer. In addition, Coach G. wants our ladies to learn soccer analytics and build a positive team environment. Her motto is you can do anything you put your mind to!
Luis Suarez — Head Freshman Coach/JV Assistant Coach
Coach Luis Suarez will be in his first year as the head freshman/junior varsity assistant coach. Everyone knows him as “Suarez”. He was born and raised in Indianapolis and graduated from Ben Davis High School in 2019. Coach Suarez played on the high school team his freshman year but then focused the next three years playing for the Westside United FC. He hopes to show our players how to be a leader on and off the soccer field and focus on ball skills. He is super passionate about soccer and is very excited to join our girls soccer program.
