Anthony Carter – Freshman Coach

Photo of Anthony Carter--Assistant Boys Soccer CoachCoach Anthony Carter will join our boys soccer staff for his first season, coaching our freshman. He was a four-year starter while playing soccer at Perry Meridian and earned Defensive Player of the Year while there. After he graduated from high school he turned pro and played one year for the Richmond Kickers and then one year for the DC United team. Unfortunately he had a career ending knee injury. After this Coach Carter began to work with youth soccer. He has three years of coaching experience which included one year as an assistant coach at Avon Middle School South. He was also the head coach for the YMCA Youth Soccer team.

His philosophy is focusing on technique: the ability to control the ball. He will be emphasizing development of the technical, tactical, physical and psychological areas of the game. His long term goals include producing well-rounded, complete soccer players, and helping each individual player to reach his or her potential, particularly for younger players.
