Daniel attended Ellet High School in Akron, Ohio. During this time he was active in the marching band, wrestling, student government, and Boy Scouts of America. He also started his first kitchen job at a small family style Italian restaurant in Akron called Lembo’s. After high school, he attended The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park New York, where he received both his AOS in culinary arts and his BPS in Hospitality Management. During this time, he also worked at the Fog Island Cafe on Nantucket Island in Massachusetts, as well as study in Italy for 1 month. After graduating college, he moved to California where he was the Restaurant Manager at the Irvine Marriott. This position oversaw seven food and beverage establishment within the hotel. After working for Marriott, he became the executive chef at Spike All American Pub in San Luis Obispo, California for three years. Most recently he was a member of the opening team for Billy Joe’s Ribworks in Newburgh, New York. It was at this time that he was invited to interview for the culinary Instructor Position here at the Area 31 Career Center. The rest, as they say, is history.
